ANGER MANAGEMENT

Anger is a common often primary emotion that all human go through, one usually feels anger when they are hurt. We tend to feel anger when we think we have been injured, mistreated, opposed in our views, or when an obstacles occurs. But anger can be control with the help of anger management, which is a psycho-therapeutic program that can help prevent and control anger. The purpose of anger management is to help people examine their triggers, control the way they view a situation, and find healthy ways to express anger and frustration. Anger is a normal emotion but can takeover one's mind set but it is always healthy to know how to express and prevent anger with the help of anger management.
There are many techniques one can do to control and keep their anger at bay and it is important doing so because knowing these techniques will help prevent later outbreaks. One strategy to keep your anger at bay is to check yourself, this means trying to identify warning signs that you are getting mad and knowing what gets you mad , step away from the situation or try relaxation techniques. The second strategy that I personally recommend is getting active which can help you calm down and relax, burn off extra tension and reduce stress that might lead to you feeling stiff ready to burst. My third strategy is just finding ways to relax your body and mind such as focusing on your breathing, imagery, and muscle relaxation. Practice slow breaths that you picture coming up from your belly, visualize a relaxing experience, and slowly tense then relax each muscle group one at a time.

Physical signs such as physical aggressiveness, damaging property, road rage, anger outbursts, throwing things, hitting the walls, scream and yell, and you begin to have physical symptoms such as tingling anywhere in the body or pressure in the head. But some mental signs that you need anger management is being told that you need help more than once, racing thoughts, and the feeling of overwhelmed. When I feel angry or upset I play basketball or go on a run this allows me to release some steam and focus on something else rather than the situation. I am a very anxious person so I keep a lot of my emotion inside which can lead to harsh outbreaks so I find breathing exercises to help me control my mindset and not lash out.
